Amazon launched the Fire HD 6 a couple of months ago as a low-end tablet. Even though it doesn’t come with the most impressive technical specifications the Fire HD 6 is a pretty decent device considering its low price tag.
The gadget measures 169 x 103 x 10.7 mm, weighs 290 grams and sports an IPS LCD capacitive display (protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass layer) that has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels with a 252 ppi pixel density. Furthermore, the Amazon Fire HD is available in two variants in terms of internal storage capacity specifically 8 and 16 GB. Unfortunately, it can’t be extended as the handheld does not have a card slot.
The Amazon Fire HD 6 also features a 2 MP camera capable of recording 1080p videos and a VGA secondary one. Moreover, the Fire HD 6 is powered by two different CPUs namely a dual-core 1.5 GHz and a dual-core 1.2 GHz, and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The tablet is kept alive a battery cell that promises up to 8 hours of web browsing and media playback on a single charge.
Other features that need to be mentioned are a MP4/H.264 player, MP3 player, documents viewer, photo/video editor and free cloud storage for all Amazon content. When it comes to color, the Amzon Fire HD 6 comes in 5 versions namely Black, White, Cobalt, Magenta and Citron.
