The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is the latest and greatest tablet launched by the online retailer giant. The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 was introduced to the public in September last year, and released on the market in November.
The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is 231 mm tall, 158 mm wide, and 7.8 mm, while having a weight of 374 grams (WiFi-only model) or 384 grams (WiFi+LTE) model.
The tablet boasts about an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display that packs a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 339 ppi. The processing tasks are handled by a Snapdragon 800 chipset with quad-core 2.2 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 technical specifications list also includes 2 GB of RAM, 16/32/64 GB of native storage, LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/b, Blueooth and microUSB 2.0. On the back of the device there’s an 8 MP cam with LED flash, image stabilization, autofocus, and video recording support, while the front panel accommodates a 720p video recording-enabled camera.
The Amazon tablet leaves the factory gates pre-loaded with a customized version of Android Jelly Bean. The UI applied by Amazon over Jelly Bean is called Fire OS 3.0 Mojito.
