Motorola Defy was officially announced at IFA 2012 Berlin in September. The smartphone was made available for purchase in select countries a next month, in October.
Motorola Defy measures 107 x 59 x 13.4 mm, has a weight of 118 grams, and it’s both dust and water resistant. It has a 3.7-inch TFT display with 480 x 854 resolution, 265 ppi pixel density, and Gorilla Glass protection.
The smartphone runs Android 2.1 Eclair out of the box, being upgradable to Android 2.2 Froyo with Motoblur UI. It has an 800 MHz TI OMAP 3610 processor, PowerVR SGX 530 GPU, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB internal storage, and microSD support up to 32 GB.
Motorola Defy arrives with connectivity features such as HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, hotspot (after the Android 2.2 update), Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, FM radio, and microUSB 2.0. It’s kept alive by a 1,540 mAh battery.
The terminal features a 5 MP rear-facing camera. Among its features you will find autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, and support for recording 480p@30fps videos. The smartphone was released in two color variants: Black and White.
