After months of rumors and reports, Samsung debuted the first two members of the Galaxy A line-up in October 2014. Samsung Galaxy A5 was one of them and it was made available for purchase late 2014.
Samsung Galaxy A5 boasts about a 5.0-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a screen-to-body ration of 71%. It’s 139.3 mm tall, 69.7 mm wide, and has a profile of only 6.7 mm. It has a weight of 123 grams.
Galaxy A5 features a Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, an Adreno 306 GPU, and 2 GB of RAM. Underneath its case you will also be able to find 16 GB of native storage, a microSD card slot (up to 64 GB supported), and a 2,300 mAh battery.
Connectivity-wise, the handset arrives with HSPA, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box, of course, with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI on top of it.
Samsung Galaxy A5 features a 13 MP main camera with autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and 1080p@30fps video recording capabilities. Right above the display you will be able to find a 5 MP sensor for your selfie needs.
