Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is the rugged variant of Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2014. The Galaxy S5 Active was announced in May 2014 and made available for purchase later the same month.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is IP67 certified which means that it’s dust and water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. It also has an MIL-STD-810G rating: salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistant.
The device measures 145.3 x 73.4 x 8.9 mm and has a weight of 170 grams. It was launched with Android 4.4.2 KitKat on board with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI on top of it. It has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU with Adreno 330 GPU.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Active features 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage, and microSD support up to 128 GB. It has a 16 MP main camera with autofocus, LED flash, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR, Aqua mode, and 4K video recording, and a 2 MP secondary cam. It also integrates a 2,800 mAh battery.
