Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is a rugged tablet that was announced by the South Korean company in September 2014 at IFA Berlin. The tablet was made available for purchase in select markets in December.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active measures 213.1 x 126.2 x 9.7 mm and has a weight of 393 grams. The tablet is IP67 certified (dust and water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes), has shock protection up to 1.2 meters, and it has a C-Pen stylus. The device arrives with an 8-inch LCD display with 800 x 1280 resolution and a pixel density of 189 ppi.
Samsung’s 8-inch tablet is running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with TouchWiz UI out of the box, while being powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor at 1.2 GHz. It also arrives with an Adreno 305 GPU, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of native storage, and support for microSD cards up to 64 GB.
On the back of the tablet there’s a 3.15 MP camera, while the front panel accommodates a 1.2 MP camera. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is kept alive by a 4,450 mAh battery while bringing connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, GPS, NFC, and microUSB 2.0.
