Sony though they should also try to penetrate the compact tablet segment and that’s how the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact was born. The slate was introduced at IFA Berlin 2014 and was released on the market a month later in November.
Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has an 8-inch TFT LCD display with Triluminos and X-Reality Engine technologies, 1200 x 1920 resolution, and a pixel density of 283 ppi. The device packs a Snapdragon 801 SoC with quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, paired with 3 GB of RAM.
The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact technical specifications list also includes 16 GB of internal storage, microSD support (up to 128 GB), 8.1 MP primary cam, 2.2 MP secondary cam, HSPA+, LTE, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. It integrates a 4,500 mAh battery with fast charge support (60% in 30 minutes with Quick Charge 2.0).
The 8-inch Sony tablet is 213.4 mm tall, 123.6 mm wide, 6.4 mm thin, and weighs in at 270 grams. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, but it’s also upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
