The Samsung Galaxy S4 is going to become available for purchase at the end of April. However, some customers might think that 5-inch device is simply to larger for their taste. That's why, as always, Samsung will also launch a smaller version of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4 Mini. According to a new Sam Mobile report, the Galaxy S4 Mini will be revealed this very week.

The online publication suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini could become available in retail stores in late May or early June, and that will be announced this week.

The smartphone will reportedly come with a 4.3-inch qHD screen, Wi-Fi, AGPS, and 8 MP rear-facing camera and will run the latest Android iteration, version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean along with TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy S4 Mini will be sold in two variants, a single SIM one that will allegedly be powered by a quad-core CPU (model number GT-I9190) and a dual-SIM model that will sport a dual-core processor (model number GT-I9192).

As for the color, the device will come in two versions like the Galaxy S4, namely White Frost and Black Mist. An exact release date is not certain yet, but it might be possible that the Galaxy S4 Mini to be offered by just some of the carriers, just like the Galaxy S3 Mini.

Sam Mobile also says that the company decided to announce the Galaxy S4 Mini shortly after its big brother because some Galaxy S4 Mini images had leaked all over the internet.

Even though today is April Fools Day, the rumor is real. However, until it gets officially confirmed nothing is set in stone.

I'm impressed:

1. It looks nicer than the S3 for sure
2. The hardware specs are gorgeous (even if 8 cores is pointless)
3. I love the fact it's got a bigger screen but the actual phone is no larger, this was a definite worry.
4. Removable battery - YES! YES! YES!
5. MicroSD - YES! YES! YES!

I just need to know now how well the battery holds up.

I suspect it will trounce the HTC One, meaning I will finally be upgrading my ageing HTC Sensation (bought May 2012).
