Good news for the users of the HTC DROID DNA. We already knew that HTC was preparing the first firmware upgrade for the device a while ago. Now, it seems that the company has finished the job and started rolling it out as of yesterday. The software update of the 5-inch device is available OTA.
The handset is the first 5-inch full HD smartphone ever released in the United States, and this aspect contributed to its popularity among the users. Not only HTC DROID DNA received great reviews, but the phone managed to be very appealing to the general public as well, which is more important. Well, it looks like the full HD display smartphone has begun receiving the long-awaited software update namely the Verizon version of the device.
The update itself is very useful for the HTC DROID DNA as it will fix a plethora of bugs and other issues which the users have been complaining about. The Android version of you handheld will remain Android 4.1 Jelly Bean even after installing the update, but it will bring your operating system to build 2.04.605.2. As for the size of the software, it's around 103 MB. I know, it's pretty large, so if you don't have access to a Wi-Fi connection, you better use Verizon's LTE, so you won't have to wait to long for it to be downloaded.
There are many improvements included by the HTC DROID DNA update such as enhancements for the audio quality of the headsets and speakers, fixes to the mobile hotspot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc. The update will also come with improvements to the multi-task function.
This said, you should expect a notification soon enough. In case you don't have enough patience, you could check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates and tap "Check for Updates".
