Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has so far released two flagship smartphones this year – U Ultra and the U11. Now a new report has confirmed that the company will be releasing its third flagship smartphone of the year in November. The upcoming flagship, likely dubbed the U11 Plus, is going to feature a very different design when compared to the U Ultra and U11. While the U Ultra and U11 have pretty large bezels surrounding the display, the U11 Plus will be HTC’s first flagship with a ‘bezel-less’ design and an 18:9 aspect ratio display.

According to the report, HTC U11 Plus, codenamed Ocean Master, will sport a 5.99-inch display sourced from JDI, offering 1440 x 2880 Quad HD+ resolution. Since the bezels will be much slimmer than on the U Ultra and U11, we can expect the U11 Plus to be only slightly bigger than the U11 in terms of physical dimensions, despite sporting a 0.5” bigger display. It will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC that powers the U11. Things will be quite similar in the memory department as well. Some regions will get the 4GB RAM + 64GB UFS 2.1 storage variant while in others HTC will launch the 6GB RAM + 128GB UFS 2.1 storage variant. The similarities extend to the camera department as well. HTC U11 Plus will sport the same 12MP primary camera as the U11, which is definitely not a bad thing. For selfies, you will get an 8MP snapper on the front.

The report also claims the U11 Plus will be IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. While the battery capacity hasn’t been revealed yet, it will support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging (up to 18W). Another similarity that the U11 Plus will share with the U11 will be the Edge Sense feature. That means it will have a squeezable frame, allowing users to perform certain functions simply by squeezing on the sides of the smartphone.

The U11 Plus will apparently be launched in China on November 11th, although it remains to be seen if the smartphone will be sold in other major markets around the world. In addition to the U11 Plus, HTC is also rumored to launch three other smartphones – Ocean Life, Ocean Lite, and Ocean Harmony.
