The Paranoid Android 4.4 Final ROM build for the Nexus 4 is now live and you can use our tutorial and learn how to successfully install it on your smartphone.

If you're a fan of custom ROMs then the Paranoid Android build might possibly become your new favorite Android 4.4.4 Custom ROMs ever released. It packs all the stock KitKat features and functions as well as some great new features designed by the Paranoid Android team. More about this PA build can be found at their Google+ page.

If you want to install this new ROM on your Nexus 4, then you have to take a look at the preparation info first:

  • use this post only for the Google Nexus 4 smartphone.
    - do not attempt to update any other devices with the files that you will find in this article.
    - installing the wrong ROM files for a different Android device, then you will most likely brick its firmware.
  • the Nexus 4 has to be rooted and its custom Recovery has to be updated to its latest build.
    - both CWM and TWRP custom Recovery versions will work with this post.
  • in the tutorial you will find two steps that need to be applied before starting the installation: create a NANDROID ROM Backup for the already installed ROM and the Factory Reset.
    - do not skip these steps.
  • if you want to save data from some of your favorite apps then you can use Helium.
  • if you want to sync Contacts info and People details then use your Gmail account.
  • enable USB Debugging in Developer Options.
  • check the battery power level of your device and make sure that it is not over 50%, this will prevent your device from switch off in the middle of the installation process.
  • this is a guide for advanced users, do not blame us in case you brick the phone, nor in case you lose any important data in the process.
  • read the entire guide and do not skip any steps.
  • if you require any extra assistance then tell us in comments.

Now that you've managed to prepare your device for the installation process you can finally get to the tutorial.
