Officially announced in October 2012, the LG Optimus G has received a lot of positive reviews, but, unfortunately for the South Korean company, the new smartphone has hit the market too late to make it count. Anyway, the LG Head of Mobile Marketing Won Kim, has confirmed that the LG Optimus G2 will be launched in the third quarter of the year and that it has some big surprises for us.
Unlike the model that is currently available on the market, the upcoming LG Optimus G2, in case this is the name the South Korean company will use for it, it will be released on the market in the third quarter of the year and it will be an international debut, which makes us hope that we will no longer see such a fragmented LG launchings schedule.
The LG official, Won Kim, didn't revealed too many details about the Optimus G2, but it has announced that the next-gen flagship smartphone will sport a 5-inch display, so it won't cannibalize the sales of the big Optimus G Pro. Won Kim also added that the new flagship will be "something different and something unique."
Earlier this month a new LG smartphone was spotted in the data base of the popular GL Benchmark test. Codenamed D801 it was the first Android-powered smartphone that made use of the might Snapdragon 800 processing solution form Qualcomm.
Do you believe that LG's Optimus G2 will be able to bite a big chunk of iPhone 5S' and Samsung Galaxy S4's market share after it will be made available? Please let us know in the comments section below.
