The much-awaited Moto G6 and G6 Play were launched in India today after their global launch in April. The third device in the series, the Moto G6 Plus, is yet to hit the Indian market. Keeping up with the modern smartphone design trends, both devices feature near bezel-less displays with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Let’s take a look at what both devices bring to the table.
The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2160×1080 and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC clocked up to 1.8GHz and coupled with an Adreno 506 GPU with 32/64GB of internal storage and 3/4GB of RAM. The Moto G6, like its competitors, comes with 12MP+5MP dual rear camera setup and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The battery is 3,000mAh Li-pol unit that is compatible with Quick Charge and comes with a compatible charger out of the box. It ditches a micro USB slot for a more modern USB Type C port.
The Moto G6 Play is a scaled-down version of the Moto G6 and comes with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720×1280. At the heart of the G6 play lies an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The G6 Play comes with a single 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary camera. It comes with a formidable 4,000mAh Li-pol battery and a fast charger out of the box. Both devices come pre-loaded with Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box and are expected to get an Android P update in the near future.
The Moto G6 price in India starts at Rs. 13,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant, going up to Rs. 15,999 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. The Moto G6 Play price in India has been set at Rs. 11,999 and is available in only one variant – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage.
