In 2016 Lenovo launched a number of devices using the Motorola brand and the products are meant especially for the emerging markets because most of them are budget friendly. This year's offer includes the Moto Z lineup that comes along with the Moto Mods, the Moto G mid-range family and the lower-tier Moto E3 phones. Nevertheless, over the last period of time an unknown Motorola branded handset has popped up online under he Moto M designation and with the model number XT1662. The smartphone has been rumored a lot lately, and now it surfaced on AnTuTu, thus we can take a look at some of its key hardware components.
The AnTuTu listing appeared on Weibo, and if it's accurate, it means that the Moto M will sports a 5.5-inch screen boasting a 1080p resolution. The engine it's made by MediaTek, and it seems that the smartphone will be powered by the Helio P10 octa-core processor, which will work alongside a Mali-T860 MP4 GPU. In the memory section, it features 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage, while in the optics department it flaunts a 16 MP primary shooter and an 8 MP one placed on the front. Furthermore, it looks like it will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the factory gates, and the obtained score in the AnTuTu benchmark is 50,000 points.
There are some previous rumors suggesting that the company will launch the Moto M in two different models, one that will be meant for the Chinese market, while the second one will be released in other Asian countries. No matter the version, the handset will come win an integrated fingerprint scanner placed on the back case, and its battery will have a capacity of 3,000 mAh. Still, what's interesting is that some reports suggest that the variant that will be sold in China will ship with a few Microsoft apps such as Skype, OneDrive, and Microsoft Office.
Anyway, the smartphone is said to be officially announced on November 8th, and according to the rumors, it seems that it will be sold at a small price of 1,999 Yuan or $295. For now we don't have any information about the smartphone being made available in Europe or North America, but the execs will probably provide the availability details during the launch event. Also, until the info written in this article is confirmed, you should take it with a dose of skepticism.
