A new Android 4.4.2 update is now being rolled out for the European LG G3, so, if you happen to own the D855 variant of the smartphone, you should keep an eye on the notifications bar.
The LG G3 D855 was sold both in Europe and Asian so if you read this from any of these regions, expect the new Android 4.4.2 update to hit your smartphone anytime soon. For what it's worth, users based in the UK are reporting that the new update is already available for their LG G3 units.
The new LG G3 Android 4.4.2 update has firmware version 10e and because the LG flagship run 4.4.2 out of the box which integrated all the KitKat-specific goodies such as cloud printing, transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, immersive mode, full screen album and movie art in the lockscreen, or color emoji support, the new OTA update only brings app updates and "power optimizations.
As usual, the LG G3 Android 4.4.2 OTA update is being rolled out in phases, which means that the ETA may vary depending on region. Once your LG G3 will become eligible to receive the 10e update, you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it, choose "Download," wait for the download to complete, then select "Install Now." The smartphone will reboot then install Android 4.4.2 on your smartphone.
In case the Android 4.4.2 update notification failed to appear, you would want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Update Center. If the 10e update doesn't appear after the manual check, it may mean you will have to wait a few more days.
Because the new LG G3 Android 4.4.2 OTA update has a size of around 100 MB we recommend you to use a stable WiFi network while downloading the update file in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
