Oppo’s latest smartphone offering – the Oppo F5 went on sale in India. The selfie-focused smartphone is priced at Rs 19,990 and is a legit successor to the Oppo F3. The Oppo F5 comes with a 20MP front camera and is being sold in India via major e-retailers Amazon and Flipkart. In a bid to make the purchase of the F5 more attractive, there are a bunch of inaugural offers that you can take advantage if interested in the buying the new phone.
The smartphone has been launched with two variants – 4GB RAM/32GB storage and 6GB RAM/64GB storage. While the 4GB RAM variant will cost you Rs 19,990, the 6GB RAM variant will set you back by Rs 24,990. Currently, only the 4GB RAM variant is up for sale, the 6GB RAM variant will be up for purchase in a few weeks.
Regarding specifications, the Oppo F5 comes with a 6-inch Full-HD+ TFT display featuring 1080×2160 pixel resolution. It is powered by MediaTek octa-core MT6763T chipset and is backed by a 3200 mAh battery. The device also supports expandable storage of up to 256GB. On the software front, it runs Android 7.1 Nougat with Oppo’s in-house ColorOS 3.2 skin on top. For connectivity, the phone supports dual nano-SIM, 4G VoLTE support, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, and USB OTG.
Coming to the main highlight of the phone, which is its 20MP selfie camera, Oppo boasts that the selfie camera on the F5 is integrated with AI enabled technology. The AI technology “highlights facial landmarks and contours to enhance the symmetry between features like eyes, nose, cheekbones and jawline’ to further improve the smartphone’s selfies.” The company also asserts that the front camera on the phone can identify the amount of background light and add sufficient luminance. The 20-megapixel lens (f/2.0 aperture) is also capable of adding features like the Bokeh effect for selfies. While for rear pictures, there is a 16-megapixel lens onboard with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash.
As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, the Oppo F5 is up for sale via Flipkart and Amazon in India. The inaugural offers include an exchange offer of up to Rs 9,601 on Amazon and an exchange deal of up to Rs 18,500 and a 5 percent discount on Axis Bank Buzz credit cards on Flipkart.
