UPDATE: if you want to apply this firmware update manually then you can use our complete Note 2 Sprint to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update guide.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update is now being pushed to Sprint users, so if you happen to own this particular device you'd better start checking the notification area.
Back in November the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 got updated to Android 4.3, but now it is getting updated to the latest Android firmware available. According to Sprint's support page the Android 4.4.2 update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has build number L900VPUCNE2 and, just like any other software update, is being rolled out to users in phases. This means that it can take several days until is made available for all users, therefore some of you might not be able to download and install it right away.
Sprint didn't provide a detailed changelog for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.2 update, but you shouldn't be too surprised to see it's similar to the updates rolled out for other Samsung smartphones. Besides the usual KitKat treats like cloud printing, immersive mode, white status bar icons, transparent status bar, full screen album art in the lockscreen, color emoji support, new Location menu, or Phone dialer with Caller ID, you should also expect improved Samsung Keyboard, updated Samsung native apps, better power management, and performance boosts.
As you may know, once your Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 becomes eligible to receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat L900VPUCNE2 update you should receive a system update message in the notification area. Tap on it, choose download, wait for the download to complete, choose install, then wait until the update is applied. If the system update notification didn't pop up, you would also want to check for it manually under Settings > More > About device > Software updates > Check for software updates.
