Because last year Samsung launched last year a Mini version of its Galaxy S3 flagship smartphone, we all expected the South Korean company to have a similar approach this year, with a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini variant, thus the rumors about it didn't fail to make the headlines. The South Korean company didn't officially announce the new model yet, but it made a brief apparition on the Samsung Apps website, which might indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release date is near.
Samsung has accidentally posted on their website a picture that confirms the existence of a smartphone that made the headlines over the past couple of months. We are talking about Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, you can see in the picture above, being listed among the terminals compatible with Samsung Apps.
I remind you that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will become a whole family of device, which will include a water and dust proof model called Galaxy S4 Active, a camera phone with a 16 megapixel sensor, called Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, and the Galaxy S4 Mini. If we also consider the octo-core model and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition, then the line-up is even bigger.
Those who want to check whether the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is still listed on the Samsung Apps website, can go here, select Great Britain, then click Display Apps by Device. Of course, it was reported that the South Korea-based company has removed the device after the users spotted it. Because the website is dedicated exclusively to apps, and the list of terminals is only meant to sort the software products by compatibility, Samsung's mistake didn't reveal any details about the smartphone's technical specifications.
The terminal that goes by its GT-I9195 codename will have a design that is a reminiscent of its bigger brother, the Samsung Galaxy S4, and the reports are indicating that it will sport a qHD Super AMOLED display, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz, 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM, depending on the variant (LTE or non LTE).
According to various sources, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, while the back of the device will accommodate an 8 megapixel camera, while the internal storage will be of 32 GB.
Since Samsung seems to be ready to include the Galaxy S4 in its list of terminals compatible with Samsung Apps, the official announcement of the new smartphone can't be too far. Of course, there are no details yet about the price tag of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, but we promise to return with fresh news as soon as they will go live. Anyway, the new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean-powered mid-end smartphone manufactured by the South Korean company should be an affordable product, that would help the Asian phone maker sell millions.
