The official Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update roll out for Galaxy S5 across Central and Western Europe, Russia and Malaysia is now complete. The update comes after almost a month since it has first reached Poland, so you check your phone's notification screen and see if there are any new firmware updates available for download.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update is rolled out in phases for all the stock Samsung Galaxy S5 devices. Don't worry if the update notification hasn't arrived in your region, as Samsung has sent the new firmware for all models and Lollipop should be released before the end of this week.

Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F International unlocked model, and the G900FD Russian and Asian models were released in April 2014 with Android 4.4.2 KitKat set as default OS. Almost two months since Lollipop has been made available for Nexus devices we are seeing that Samsung has released Android 5.0 firmware for almost all unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 models and the major U.S. carriers should launch it soon enough for their models.

Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update that has been released in Europe and Russia features the XXU1BNL9 firmware build, while the firmware version of the one made available in Malaysia is set to G900FDXU1BNL3. Both these builds have been created almost at the same time around the 19th of December.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update for Galaxy S5 adds a major overhaul of the entire user interface called Material Design. Other great changes have been applied for the Notifications and Toggles panel, while Samsung's TouchWiz interface has taken a step back and now it resembles more with the Stock Android 5.0 UI seen on Nexus devices. Notifications can now be controlled from the lockscreen menu, too, Priority Mode has been also added, brand new Power Saving Mode has been added, improved Security, Android Smart Lock, Device Sharing support for multiple users, guest user and Screen Pinning, New Quick Settings features, better network connectivity, full Android ART support, and more.

If you want to run the best Android environment, then you should confirm the download process of Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update for your Galaxy S5 smartphone. Note that this new firmware is only sent for stock Galaxy S5 phones, so you won't be getting it in case you're running a custom ROM on your device. If the official OTA Update hasn't been sent your way, then you should open the Galaxy S5 Software Updates menu under Settings> General> About Phone section. Confirm the download process for a new firmware and then wait for your device to complete Android 5.0 Lollipop update installation by itself.

Keep in mind that the update should hit all devices across Europe and Malaysia before the end of this week. If you're based in the United States, then you should expect your carrier to start the Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 update roll out late January or early February.
