As you may know, Samsung's LTE-friendly Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is also available through T-Mobile. The carrier announced on their support page that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.0 Android 4.4.4 update is now being pushed to users.
The new update will be rolled out in phases which means that some of the T-Mobile Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 owners might have to wait a bit more before being able to update their devices with the new software. Because Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 was launched with Android 4.4.2, all the KitKat-specific goodies such as transparent status bar, white status bar icons, cloud printing, immersive mode, color emoji support, new Location menu, or full screen album and movie art in the lock screen were pre-loaded, so don't expect any major changes for the Android 4.4.4 update. T-Mobile failed to post an official changelog for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 Android 4.4.4 update, but security improvements, bug fixes, and minor updates for Samsung's native apps are to be expected.
Once your device becomes eligible to receive the new firmware, you should be able to notice a system update message in the notifications panel. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > General > About device > Software update > Check for software updates. Alternatively, you can grab the USB cable, connect your tablet to the PC, then perform a software update check via KIES.
It's also worth noting that the new update will update the baseband to version T337TUVU1BNI8 and that it has a size of 277 MB. We are recommending you to download the update file using a stable WiFi network in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
