Samsung Galaxy S5 owners in Poland were the first to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update earlier this month, and now the Korean smartphone giant has released a second Android 5.0.1 update for the Galaxy S5 in Poland. This new update carries the build number LRX21T.G900FXXU1BNL7 and is around 371.33MB in size. The update was initially available via Samsung KIES PC application, but SamMobile now reports that the update is also available for download via OTA.

The new update is expected to come with bug-fixes and improvements over the first firmware that was released earlier. As with any major software update, users did experience a few issues with the first firmware, so this update is likely to fix all those issues. The 5.0 rollout in Poland was also a beta test of sorts for the Lollipop firmware, so we could expect this new update to be the final Android 5.0 build to be rolled out to Galaxy S5 G900F models in other European markets as well. When exactly the update will be pushed out to rest of Europe isn’t known yet, but if this new update is indeed the final Lollipop build, then Galaxy S5 owners in other markets may expect to see this update arrive on their G900F model by the end of this month.

Unfortunately no change-log for this update is available yet, but as mentioned earlier, it is expected to bring stability and performance improvements along with bug-fixes. If you are from Poland, you can check for the update by going to Settings – About Phone – System Updates. Usually the update shows up in notifications automatically, but sometimes it may not show up. In such a case you can check for the update manually as mentioned. Or you can also download the update firmware from SamMobile and flash it on to your Galaxy S5 using the latest version of Odin. If you do not have Odin on your computer, first download Odin from this link and extract the zip file on your computer and open the Odin program. You will then be required to connect your Galaxy S5 in download mode (press Home + Power + Volume down buttons simultaneously) to the computer. At this point you should see a blue sign in the Odin program. When you see the sign, add the firmware you downloaded to AP/PDA and un-check re-partition option. Click on the start button and wait for the firmware to get installed on your device. Once the firmware has been successfully flashed on your device, disconnect your Galaxy S5 from the computer.
