Sprint has officially rolled out the old Android 5.1 Lollipop Update for all their Moto X 2013 users. The update is available over-the-air starting today and it should reach all those devices running 100% stock Android on their devices.
The official Android 5.1 Lollipop Update comes with the Material Design interface, and tons of extra tweaks that should offer a better performance and smoother UI. This Android 5.1 update will most probably be the last Lollipop build one released, as Sprint will most likely start working on releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Moto X 2013 devices.
Android 5.1 Lollipop now released by Sprint for 2013 Moto X has the software version set at LPA23.12-39.10. Besides all the new features and functions that you will get after completing the update, you should know that the update also contains the Stagefright security patch. Your phone will stay safe against any hacking attempt and no data file should be vulnerable from now on.
The new firmware update is sent for all Sprint Moto X 2013 users, but you should know that it will only be available for download in case you are still running stock Android on it. If you've modified your phone's OS in any way, then the Android 5.1 firmware won't be available for installation. If the update has failed to arrive today, then you shouldn't worry too much as it will be ready for download in the following days.
You can manually check for new firmware files by going to Settings> About Phone> System Updates menu. Confirm the download process of any new firmware file that you might find, but make sure to use a Wi-Fi connection in order to avoid going over your mobile data plan.
After you update your device you should tell us in comments how is your Moto X 2013 device performing with Android 5.1 Lollipop. Also, feel free to list some of the things that have impressed you the most while testing this new firmware.
