Even though the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update has been recently received by the HTC One X, it seems that the company have installed another surprise for its former flagship device. According to a new report, the HTC One X will get one more firmware upgrade bringing in to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The software update is supposed to be released in June or July, and will come along with the HTC Sense 5 user interface.
However, the information hasn't been confirmed by the phone maker, and the rumor about the HTC One X being updated to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes from online publication Gotta Be Mobile, that cites a Twitter user named @LlabToofer, who according to the website, is a trusty HTC leakster that is familiar with the company's software update plans. He is the same person who claimed that the HTC One will be updated to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean soon.
Even if the news hasn't been officially confirmed, we do expect that the HTC One X will receive the Android 4.2.2 software update later this year. Also, HTC did mentioned that some of its handset will receive the Sense 5 UI, the HTC One X being included in the company's list, which also consists of the Droid DNA, HTC One X+, HTC One SA and HTC Butterfly.
You would think that the HTC One X will run the latest iteration of Android OS starting June/July, but this probably won't be the case because by the time the summer comes why might have a new version of Android around. Of course, we are referring to the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, which is probably going to be announced bu Google during its I/O event, which will take place in mid-May.
Nonetheless, it's good that HTC is planning to update the HTC One X to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, even though this is not the company's main concern as it has other problems like the camera bugs of its current flagship, the HTC One.
