ZTE has launched a new entry-level Android smartphone for Boost Mobile, dubbed the Blade Force. The new smartphone is priced at just $130 and supports Sprint’s High Performance User Equipment (HPUE) technology, allowing for higher download speeds and increased coverage compared to regular smartphones.

The ZTE Blade Force sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution and runs on an octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 may not be the most efficient chip out there, but it does offer decent benchmark performance. Graphics are handled by the chip’s integrated Adreno 505 GPU. Since it is an entry-level smartphone, ZTE has paired the Snapdragon 430 chipset with only 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage, you get 16GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded further by up to 128GB with a microSD card slot.

Let’s talk about the cameras now. ZTE Blade Force features an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. A 3000mAh capacity battery keeps the lights on and ZTE claims that it can deliver up to 23.5 hours of talk time on a single charge. The smartphone doesn’t disappoint in terms of software, as it ships with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box.

“The ZTE Blade Force continues to demonstrate how ZTE seamlessly blends innovation and affordability into our lineup, while remaining true to what consumers want most in their smartphone,” said Lixin Cheng, CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices. “The Blade Force packs big features, Sprint’s HPUE technology and a lot more into an affordable price point.”

The smartphone is voice roaming capable, which means you can keep talking even when you are temporarily outside the Sprint network. Select plans include up to 50 minutes of domestic voice roaming. You can stay connected even when you travel to Mexico, although a plan add-on will be required for the same. The ZTE Blade Force measures 6.14” x 3.07” x 0.36” and weighs in at 6 oz.

If you aren’t a Boost Mobile subscriber, you can benefit if you “Make the Switch” to Boost Mobile soon. You can get two lines of unlimited talk, text and data with 3GB of 4G LTE data per line for just $50 per month.
